This was conducted in a timely manner, coinciding with the onset of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

The event explored the intersection of Islam, science, ethics, language, and halal principles. The event brought together scholars, faculty, and students for an insightful discussion on key topics relevant to faith, culture, and contemporary society.

VC Muallil formally opened the program. He emphasized the importance of research and extension in knowledge-building and community development. He also presented his talk, “Islam and Science: A Scientist’s Perspective,” addressing common questions about faith and scientific inquiry.

📍 Speaker 1: Dr. Kasmil S. Abdulwahid – “Addressing Ethical Dilemmas: Balancing Islamic Values with Contemporary Beliefs.” Discussed ethical struggles, patience, and the power of words in shaping moral perspectives. He engaged in Q&A on modern Islamic values and navigating faith in contemporary society.

📍 Speaker 2: Dr. Aisa U. Bud – “Peace Language in the Proverbs of Tausug, Sama, and Yakan.” Prof. Bud explored how traditional proverbs promote peace, unity, and cultural preservation. Identified trust, humility, sincerity, and justice as core values that unify these ethnic groups.

Interactive Q&A sessions allowed participants to engage in meaningful discussions on faith, ethics, and cultural identity. Over 130 attendees, including faculty members, employees, and students from CIAS and other colleges, actively engaged in the discussions.

The OVCRE remains committed to advancing research, promoting cultural understanding, and fostering meaningful dialogue.
