This membership strengthens the university's role as a leader in future planning in the Coral Triangle, allowing it to include future-focused education, align its goals with global objectives like the SDGs and the UN Declaration on Future Generations, and actively participate in important discussions about climate resilience, ocean care, and forward-thinking governance.

It emphasizes the importance of fairness between generations and urges governments, organizations, and communities to include long-term thinking, sustainability, and forward-looking governance in their current choices and systems.
