𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻, 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮
Assoc. Prof. Fauzia Kahil Sali was the immediate past Dean of the College of Education and has been a faculty member since August 2015. With a background in Physics Education, she graduated from MSU Marawi in 2007 and furthered her educational background in the same university with her Master of Science in Teaching General Science in 2014 as a World Islamic Call Society (WICS) scholar. Her commitment to education is manifested in her various roles including as College Secretary from January 2018 to December 2021.
Assoc. Prof. Sali is actively engaged in research and presented papers in conferences. Her paper on the Social Compositions of Schools in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi and their Implications for Educational Public-Private Partnership was published in the International Journal of Learning, Teaching and Educational Research, a Q2 Scopus-indexed journal. Her scholarly pursuits were recognized when she received the Best Presentation Award at the 9th International Conference on Education in Bangkok, Thailand, and her involvement in the international project Mechanism of Electrical Conductivity in PEDOT: PSS Film Enhanced with Colloidal Silver Nanoparticles which was awarded First Place by Eagle ATTECH.
As Dean, she spearheaded numerous initiatives that significantly enhanced the college's stature. Under her leadership, the college introduced new specialized graduate programs, four (4) of which are master degrees and one (1) doctorate degree program which increased enrollment and attracted a diverse student population. Under her guidance, the college has achieved milestones in faculty development and research output including an increase engagement in research paper presentations and publications, nineteen (19) of whom received incentives due to their Scopus-indexed journal publications.
The college's commitment to community extension programs enabled it to address social and literacy challenges in the community. The college has also forged a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia's leading university in teacher education.
Assoc. Prof. Sali will now pursue Ph.D. in Science Education at Universiti Malaya which reflects her dedication for continuous learning and professional growth. She will pursue her PhD under the MSU-TCTO Partial APDP Grant, while applying for a scholarship grant from the Bangsamoro's Ministry of Science and Technology. Her leadership, research contributions, and commitment to enhancing education make her an exemplary figure within the College of Education and the broader academic community.
