The Mindanao State University - Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO) has achieved a significant milestone in the field of scientific research. MSU-TCTO is the 43rd highest-ranked university in the Philippines, as indicated by the AD Scientific Index 2025. The Administration is committed to supporting researchers by acknowledging their achievements through cash incentives under pertinent BOR-approved policies and as well as providing research incentive productivity tools to primary authors and co-authors under Special Order No. 071-A, series of 2024 issued by the Office of the Chancellor. As of October, MSU-TCTO has produced a total of 170 articles published in Scopus-indexed journals. Sixty-four (64) of these were published in 2024, from 40 in 2023 to 64 in 2024. Since 2021, our research publications under SCOPUS have steadily increased and have reached an all-time high in the history of MSU-TCTO. Under the AD Scientific Index, MSU-TCTO placed 119 in 2023, which improved to 46 in 2024 and now for 2025, MSU-TCTO is at the 43rd spot out of 287 Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs). The Administration expressed gratitude to the researchers for their commitment to enhancing the University's standing in the national scientific community, which has been notably elevated by their remarkable scientific achievements. In order to maintain the motivation of our prolific researchers, a new policy has been implemented. The Board of Regents approved the International Publication Awards (IPA) for Journal Articles, Books, and Book Chapters under Resolution No. 374, s. 2024 on September 16, 2024. A new system of incentives has been implemented under this policy, which is categorized in accordance with journal accreditation, impact factor, quartile ranking, and book class levels. MSU-TCTO's commitment to fostering a robust research environment and advancing science and technology is underscored by this accomplishment.
