In a resounding affirmation of its quality management systems, the Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO), now including the College of Law in its certified scope, successfully passed its 1st Surveillance Audit for the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), with auditors recommending the maintenance of its certification.
The surveillance audit, conducted by TÜV SÜD Philippines, assessed MSU-TCTO’s compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standards, affirming the University’s strong commitment to quality service, continuous improvement, and stakeholder satisfaction.
This annual audit is designed to ensure that certified institutions continue to uphold the standards of quality management in the delivery of services. This year’s audit marks a significant milestone for MSU-TCTO, with the inclusion of the College of Law – Tawi-Tawi Extension in the certification scope. This expansion affirms the University’s commitment to excellence in legal education and institutional governance.
The audit team commended MSU-TCTO for its commitment to quality education and efficient administrative services, noting the University’s continuous improvement initiatives and dedication to meeting the needs of its stakeholders.
The scope of the audit covers the provision of Higher Education, Research, and Extension services across the following academic units: the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Islamic and Arabic Studies, College of Fisheries, College of Education, Institute of Oceanography and Environmental Science, and the Institute of Information and Communication Technology. With the addition of the College of Law – Tawi-Tawi Extension, MSU-TCTO continues to expand its reach and uphold global standards across disciplines.
The audit was conducted by TÜV SÜD Philippines, with Ms. Marijane Comaling serving as Lead Auditor, and Ms. Salvacion Ganot and Mr. Erwin F. Quinto as Audit Team Members.
Following the audit, the TÜV SÜD team confirmed that the University continues to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. The maintenance of University’s certification has been officially recommended, pending the submission of corrective action plans on or before August 26, 2025.
