Luma’ Alumni Soon to Rise: A New Home for MSU Tawi-Tawi Alumni

MSU Tawi-Tawi officially held the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Luma' Alumni, attended by MSU System officials, stakeholders, and distinguished alumni of the University.

The Luma' Alumni building is more than just an ordinary structure. It represents a home—a home where all alumni, wherever life may take them, will always have a place to return to. It symbolizes the strong connection between the alumni and the alma mater.

The event was graced by the MSU System President Atty. Basari D. Mapupuno, the MSU Alumni Regent Hon. Renato D. Boniao, distinguished guests from the MSU System, University officials, and stakeholders from Provincial Local Government Units (LGUs) and other line agencies. Faculty, staff, and students of the University also witnessed the event.

The Luma' Alumni is a three-story building made up of three floors. ✅ First Floor: An Office, Conference Room, Rentable Space, and Front Office ✅ Second Floor: Suite Room 1, Guest Rooms 2 & 3, Coffee Shop, and Dining/Lounge Area ✅ Third Floor: Bunk Rooms 1 & 2 and Gallery Hall

The Luma' Alumni building symbolizes the enduring bond between MSU Tawi-Tawi and its alumni. This new home will serve as a hub for alumni activities and a testament to the university's commitment to fostering a strong community. By working together, we will continue to construct a more promising future for MSU Tawi-Tawi and its extended family.

The Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) has achieved a notable accomplishment in its debut participation in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, placing 1,411th globally among institutions recognized for their commitment to sustainability. Nationally, MSU TCTO ranked 78th among Philippine universities, and notably, it emerged as the first and only institution in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to be included in this global sustainability assessment.
