MSU Tawi-Tawi recently held a formal ceremony to welcome the re-elected Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences, the four principals of the Community Junior High Schools, and the newly-promoted and regularized faculty members.

In her address, Prof. Mona Froida M. Langoh, PhD, the re-elected dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, expressed her gratitude to the administration for the renewed opportunity to lead the College. “As I embark on my second term as the Dean of CAS, I am continually inspired by the caliber, drive, and achievements of the administration,” she stated.

She further added, “Being a part of the MSU-TCTO leadership team, I understand the intricacies of navigating the future, especially in providing meaningful pathways in instruction, research, and innovation. I am aware of the challenges that come with exploring new ideas, all while balancing the need for resources to continue supporting the work we are committed to.”

She concluded her speech by saying, “The College of Arts and Sciences is the heart and soul of society, and we are the lifeblood that nourishes it. You are all exceptional, and I am honored to serve you.”

The ceremony also held the installation of the following junior high school principals: Hajara M. Hassan (Tandubanak Junior High School), Josefa B. Jaafar (Manuk-Mangkaw Junior High School), Mensalim D. Tanji (Tabawan Junior High School), and Abdurahman M. Mansul (Mapun Junior High School).

The event also marked the oath-taking of newly-regularized and promoted faculty members

Rizal Jhunn F Robles - Assistant Professor IV

Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali congratulated the re-elected dean and principals for their demonstrated tenacity and dedication in her message. She also acknowledged the promoted faculty, emphasizing that promotion entails greater responsibility.

“I urge you to fulfill your duties and always think of MSU-TCTO. Protect MSU-TCTO like a parent, a child, a sibling, and as a loved one. Our institution would grow if its name is protected, and the people working for MSU cherish it. All the policies we are implementing now only lead to one thing: the success of MSU-TCTO.”

She added, “Help us make sound policies for our research initiatives, academic pursuits, institutional collaborations, and expansion. Do good, and I want us all to be united for MSU-TCTO. There are many good news for 2024 I want to share, however, let us let the months unravel and be surprised what our Emerald Year has in store for us.”

The ceremony marked new leadership roles and celebrated faculty achievements. Their unwavering dedication and commitment are set to mold the future trajectory of the institution, creating ripples that will extend beyond the University walls to make a profound impact on society. As we steps into the Emerald year, the University is steadfast in its pursuit of academic excellence, striving to reach new heights and set unprecedented standards in the realm of education.

The Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) has achieved a notable accomplishment in its debut participation in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, placing 1,411th globally among institutions recognized for their commitment to sustainability. Nationally, MSU TCTO ranked 78th among Philippine universities, and notably, it emerged as the first and only institution in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to be included in this global sustainability assessment.
